Summary of my research
We work on large-scale optimization models, algorithms, and theory, with a particular interest in their interaction with artificial intelligence, modern scientific computing, and applications in science and engineering. Our research combines rigorous mathematical analysis with scalable algorithm design and practical computational implementation. Over the years, we have developed methods for manifold optimization, composite and structured optimization, optimization for machine learning and large language models, learning-based optimization, and formal approaches to optimization and applied mathematics. We are also interested in optimization software and in building integrated environments that connect modeling, algorithm design, computation, and verification.
